Dana Thompson

QualPro Leadership Dana ThompsonDana Thompson is an Account Director for QualPro with over twenty-seven years experience in performance improvement applications, technical consulting, and project management. As a QualPro consultant and project manager, Dana has become a leading authority on the use of QualPro’s MVT ® Process in hospitals and other healthcare industry organizations.  His extensive experience also spans a variety of other industries including retail, convenience store, manufacturing, service, military, and higher education.

Prior to joining QualPro, Dana served as the program manager for the Performance Engineering Division of KMDS Technical Associates in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, improving, testing, and auditing the performance of software and hardware systems.  His career began as an Army officer managing laser weapon development projects at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.  He then moved to private industry and worked as a project cost analyst and system engineer in support of Department of Defense projects. He also established and managed a non-profit corporation that developed and implemented after-school pre-engineering programs to encourage K-12 students to pursue math and science careers.  Dana’s background brings a unique and broad perspective to performance improvement projects.

Since joining QualPro in 2005, Dana has consistently delivered breakthrough performance improvements using QualPro’s 12-step MVT ® Process.  His qualifications include on-site consulting efforts with dozens of companies in the United States.  Dana has partnered with Fortune 500 companies, including such industry leaders as AutoNation, BJC Healthcare, Blount Memorial Hospital, DuPont, Meijer, Pilot Flying J, Sentara Healthcare, Truman Medical Centers, and WellPoint.

In addition to his accomplishments improving healthcare processes, Dana has successfully applied the MVT® Process to engineering, accounting, sales, marketing, administration, customer service, and fundraising activities.  His successes have been featured in American Medical News, the Arizona Daily Star, Convenience Store News, Fierce Healthcare, Healthcare Marketing Report, Hospital Access Management, the Knoxville News Sentinel, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Dana received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of California – Davis.
